Side table

I've been sitting on some spare oak butcher block from a couple times I shortened my old desk. I didn't know what, but knew I'd want to do something with it eventually.

I don't have a bed frame and keep my mattress on the floor. I've been using a cheap bit of shelving atop a couple stacks of books as a side table to hold a glass of water, my alarm clock, and a book. It's worked alright, but is wobbly and has a smaller surface than I'd like.

So last week I made myself a little side table. It's not much, and the oak nearly broke my cheap drill and saw in the process, but I'm very happy with it. It looks rough, but it works well, which is more than I can say for myself.
